Instructions
  1. Soak beans overnight in a medium sized kettle, using about 2 quarts of water.
  2. Simmer for 1 hour. Drain.
  3. Pour beans into bean pot or another casserole dish with a cover. Add onion.
  4. Measure 2 cups of water and mix with molasses, bacon and mustard. Add to bean pot, combine with beans and onion..
  5. Cover the beans with water and bake in oven at 300 degrees, 5 to 7 hours. Stir frequently, adding water as needed. Do not allow the beans to become dry.
